Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally increases to 58; most patients in 18-44 age bracket

Kohima, June 3 (MExN): Nagaland reported 9 new COVID-19 positive cases numbers on June 3 taking the total number of infection in the state to 58.

 

“Out of 115 samples tested, 9 more returnees from Chennai tested Covid-19 positive,” Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom informed in a tweet on June 3.

 

The status is as of 8:15 am, June 3.

 

The new cases include 5 from Dimapur and 4 from Kohima. All the active cases are related to the Shramik special train from Chennai that reached the state on May 22 and  they are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.

 

Overall, with the addition of 5, Dimapur now has 36 active cases, while there are 17 in Kohima and 5 cases in Tuensang for a state total of 58. 

 

Meanwhile, according to the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard, most of the individuals testing positive were in the age group of 18-44 years.

 

Out of 58 patients, 56 belong in the cohort.  The other two are in the 0-17 age group, the dashboard informed. Gender wise, the total include 38 male and 20 females.
